Erica Blaire Roby

A recent appearance on the Food Network show Blue Smoke Grill shows that Roby has more than a background in cooking than most people might think. She trained under some of the biggest names in the business and has even won a $7,500 grant from the Preserve the Pit fellowship program. Competing against the best barbecue chefs in America, Roby put her skills to the test. The competition was tough, but Roby fought through the pain, despite a cut finger.

Roby is a psychology grad and has worked both as a wine expert, as well criminal defense attorney. Before she competed on Food Network's Food Network, she worked as a wine expert, matching wines with dishes. This job allowed her to reclaim her passion for cooking. Roby's father owned a barbecue joint, so her love for the grill came naturally.

Roby started cooking barbecue, despite having a career in law. After hearing her father dream of opening a barbecue restaurant, she was inspired to pursue the dream. In 2018, Roby enrolled in a barbecue cooking course taught by celebrity pitmaster Harry Soo. After completing the course, Roby was certified as a pitmaster and began work in a barbecue restaurant.

Her love for barbecue started as a hobby. She eventually became obsessed with the art of barbecuing. At first, she made barbecue dishes from her back porch. In the next few years, she began to participate in barbecue competitions throughout the country, where her dishes were prepared by world-famous chefs. She has since opened several pop-ups all around Dayton. She hopes one day to open a food cart.

Team Brawl vs. Team Brawl and Team Anne

Two of the best chefs in the world will team up to challenge each other for the title of ultimate griller in the third season of Food Network's BBQ Team Brawl. Anne Burrell (and Jet Tila) will battle Bobby Flay (and Team Anne) in a dinner-party brawl. Matt Roth (BBQ Brawl's favorite) returns as the Austin-based Smokin Beauty owner with Thao.

Ann advised the contestants what they should make, while Jet and Team Bobby let the participants choose. Team Bobby fell for his ceviche while Jet let them choose. This time Team Anne has an advantage. Anne even grabbed Team Bobby's throat as he reached for an ingredient.

The new season of BBQ Team Brawl will feature some familiar faces, as with all Food Network competitions. Lee Ann Whippen, a 23-year veteran of barbecuing, will be the team's judge. She is also the managing member of Deviled Pig Tampa and a judge in the Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has won many state and global barbecue championships. She also has starred in TV shows like Throwdown With Bobby Flay and BBQ Pitmasters.

Flay and Symon fought it out for the best barbecue sandwich in another battle. This time, Lee Ann took a more traditional approach to the sandwich, while Susie went for an exotic twist. Her pork belly banh mi pushed the boundaries of flavors while the judges thought it was too thick. Team Anne's burger had great flavor and was juicy. It came on a sturdy bun.
